We are excited to share the details of the upcoming WIND (Women Innovation Days) conference, taking place on May 4–5 in Dubrovnik. This event is a key meeting point for the aviation sector in the CEE region and the Balkans. We are focusing on innovation, security, and the vital role of women leaders who are shaping the future of our airports.
Our journey begins with a session dedicated to the human element in high-tech infrastructure. Experts will discuss how to balance advanced automation with human intuition and strategic leadership. We are honored to welcome a distinguished group of speakers for this discussion, including Anna Midera (Lodz Airport), Karla Orban (Coventry University), Ada Aukje Engel (Flight Deck). They will be joined by Persaud-von der Westhuizen, and we are also expecting Tine Haas from the Dornier Group. Another highlight will be the panel on Commercial Flow & Passenger Experience. Experts from SITA will provide insights about Airport Operations System in Geneva Airport.
A major part of the conference will be the Routes Development panel, specifically designed to address the challenges of regional airports. We will dive into marketing support, incentive schemes, and cooperation with low-cost carriers (LCC). The panel features Liene Freivalde (Riga Airport), Tatsiana Andrushka (Wroclaw Airport), and Nina Vojnic (Pula Airport). We are also very pleased to welcome a representative from the Dubrovnik Regional Tourism Board, which will provide a broader perspective on the synergy between aviation and tourism.
The program is completed by sessions on security and human resources. The “Beyond the Fence” security panel will feature Milda Smitaite (Skybridge), representatives of Dubrovnik Airport and Joanna Wieczorek, who will discuss emerging threats. Finally. Our HR session will focus on building resilient teams and mental health. In addition to the conference sessions, participants can enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of Dubrovnik Airport, a wellness session on the terrace, and a Gala Dinner in the heart of the historic Old Town.
