In the middle of May, we visited Slovenia. Our goal was both to look for opportunities for cooperation with Slovenian airports, but also to meet at the Polish Embassy to talk about the possibilities of cooperation and support for our activities by the Ambassador as well as Commercial Counselors operating at the Polish consular unit.
Slovenia has several airports and due to country size, they are not large ones. We visited three of them. Due to their functions and location – these were the most important points of our visit – of course, apart from the aforementioned Embassy. The largest airport in Slovenia is the Ljubljana airport belonging to Fraport. The second largest is airport in Maribor, which is currently preparing for major changes. It is underway to transform it into a large cargo-hub and a small, but very interesting airport in Portorož. Interesting to us due to the location and nature of the aircrafts operated. During the talks at the embassy, we invited the Ambassador to the AIR2022 conference organized by „Polish Airports” and our association. Much part of the talks was devoted to supporting the airports and entities from the capital group in economic relations with both Slovenia and the neighboring countries on the eastern border.
