PPL Step

12/12/2021

The V4 + Airports Association is executed according to the project formula applicable at PPL, in accordance with the PPLStep project management methodology, implemented on the basis of the TenStep® Project Management Process Methodology, i.e. in the project management standard compliant with the PMBOK® Guide developed by the Project Management Institute.

The project aims at building relations between airports in Central and Eastern Europe and creating space for exchanging experience and know-how between project stakeholders. The cooperation will involve developing common positions on changes in international aviation law and legal amendments proposed by the European Commission, the EU Parliament. Additionally, focus will be put on good practices in the field of safety, air operations and technology. Plans also include joint training, e.g. in the area of medical safety, passenger service, as well as promotion of culture and tourism and organizing conferences on various topics.

The project is carried out within the area of PPL Management Bureau, which, apart from the organizational and formal aspect, is responsible for, among other things, coordination of the company’s top projects, including project implementation as well as strategy development and implementation, which takes place through the Project Management Divisions (PMO) and the Strategy Division.

The framework for the functioning of the V4 + association is created in the Management Bureau. The Project Management Division (PMO) ensures that methodological standards are complied with, which allows for the management of works in an orderly and transparent manner.

Currently, the project is in the planning stage – the project team is in the process of working out the Project Definition with attachments, the Schedule and the Communication Plan. PMO supports the work of the project team by providing them with methodological knowledge during workshops at which project documentation is prepared. Additionally, PMO teaches how to create and manage the schedule in MS Project. The team also obtains knowledge on, inter alia, the method of reporting changes to the scope of the project, reporting and managing critical problems and project risks. In this project, PMO applies the learning by doing method. This means that the project team uses the methodology in real project activities, thus gaining experience of running a project according to a specific order. PMO also gathers experience from the implementation of the project, which will be used in periodic reviews of the methodology and project documentation for possible modification.
